Citrus Mint Winter Mocktail

Jump to Recipe

Whether you are participating in Dry January, Damp January, or you prefer Mocktails year-around, I am sure that this Citrus Mint Winter Mocktail will quickly become one of your favorites.

I initially made this for New Year’s Eve and I’ve probably made it 10+ times since then. I’ve served it to all of our friends and family and nobody can believe it only has 3 ingredients in it. I hope you love this super simple Winter Mocktail recipe as much as we all have!

Dry January Citrus Mint Winter Mocktail
Citrus Mint Winter Mocktail

This has to be my favorite mocktail of all time. The tartness of the in-season grapefruit during Winter, combined with the freshness of the mint from the crisp sparkling water creates the perfect citrus Winter Mocktail that will take you under 2 minutes to put together.

Ingredients

Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice- I have tried so many bottles grapefruit juices and as much as I wanted one to work, none even come close to fresh squeezed, especially since this is the star flavor of this mocktail.

Mint Sparkling Water- I like either the Cucumber Mint Sparking water from Target, or the Watermelon Mint Sparking Water from Amazon.

Maple Syrup- I prefer maple syrup as the sweetener in all of my mocktails. It mixes so much easier than honey does and gives more depth in flavor than a simple syrup does. Maple syrup also has some potential health benefits over sugar. You can read about them here if you’re interested!

Ice- I love crushed ice, but any ice will work for this one!

How to make the perfect Winter Mocktail

Step 1

In a shaker, combine 4 oz fresh grapefruit juice with 1-2 oz maple syrup and ice. Shake well and pour over a cup of ice.

Step 2

Top with the Mint flavored sparkling water of your choice. I usually use roughly 2 oz.

Step 3

Garnish as you’d like and enjoy your fresh Citrus Winter Mocktail!

  • ✨ Starbucks Copycat Chai Tea Latte for $1.44 ✨

This drink is so easy to duplicate at home. It only uses 2 ingredients and saves you both time and money! This has been my Winter obsession this year.

#dEATS

- TAZO Chai Mix (you can use regular, decaf, or skinny- which just cuts the sugar in the mix so it won’t be as sweet) I find all 3 of these at Target but I’ve seen them all over grocery stores too.

- 2% Milk (Starbucks uses 2% for their Chai Tea Latte but you can sub this for any milk or milk alternative according to your diet restrictions and taste preferences.

DIRECTIONS

The suggested serving size for a 12oz latte is 3/4 cup chai mix and 3/4 cup milk.

Step 1- Heat 3/4 of the chai mix on a cooktop or in the microwave and then transfer to a mug.

Step 2- froth 3/4 cup of milk. You can froth your milk with a handheld frother or a machine. If you don’t have either of these, you can blend it on high in a blender for about 20-30 seconds until it becomes foamy.

Step 3- Pour your foamed milk over the warm chai and enjoy your Starbucks Copycat Chai Latte!

  • This one is a little unusual but so, so good and packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber! Chia seeds soak up liquid and turn into a gel-like pudding so if you don’t like texture, leave these out.

✨ Chia Mimosa Mocktail ✨

#dEATS

- 5 oz orange juice
- 1-2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 oz pomegranate dragon fruit sparkling water (I get this from Target)

Make sure to soak your chia seeds in the orange juice for at least 20 minutes before topping with sparkling water and enjoying this healthy mocktail! This will allow them enough time to soak up the juice and expand.
