About

Hi, I’m Madison. I am a wife, mother, and dog mom. I spend a large portion of my day in the kitchen between making our family’s breakfast, lunches, snacks, and dinner. Everyone in my family has their own special spot in the kitchen while I cook, so our kitchen has become the home to many of my favorite family memories.

My Intro to The Kitchen

I have been in the kitchen since I was crawling whether it was making our favorite steak peppercorn sauce with my dad, or baking elaborate holiday cakes with my mom. (She even made the best chocolate cake as the Groom’s Cake for my wedding!)

Cooking has always been synonymous with quality time to me. I love creating memories in the kitchen that certain foods and flavors can bring back up a decade down the road. Every Christmas my Grandmother would gather all of the grandkids and give us each a “special job” in order to make her Homemade Chocolate Turtles. Then, it was fun to be involved in the process. Now, making turtles with my family is both packed with nostalgia and full of new memories too. On the other side of my family, my great-grandmother used to make a special Holiday Punch every Thanksgiving. Now every time that I taste it I remember the exact feeling of her cozy home packed to the brim with friends and family.

“Cooking has always been synonymous with quality time to me. I love creating memories in the kitchen that certain foods and flavors can bring back up a decade down the road.”

This is what I love most about the kitchen.

Meet Elvis

When I’m not cooking or cleaning my kitchen, I like to spend my free time either weight training, playing outside with my family, or playing fetch with my dog, Elvis.

Meet Elvis

You will likely get to know Elvis very well since he does his best to make an appearance in almost every photo that I take. He is my loyal Sous-chef, taste-tester, and live-in vacuum cleaner. He is the most excellent taste-tester since he is the only picky dog that I have every met in my life. However, this also makes him a very sub-par “vacuum cleaner.”

My husband and I got Elvis shortly after we got married so he has been with us from the beginning. I think that we would both call him our best friend. He has watched our family grow over the years and absolutely adores and is adored by everyone.

My Cooking Philosophy

With my background being in health and fitness, I believe that food is fuel for both our bodies and our minds. I try my best to apply this to most of my recipes that I create. I also believe that there is a time and place for your favorite home-cooked dessert on the couch while watching re-runs of Cheers, or a night of entertaining with snack boards and great friends. You will find a lot of those recipes here too.

Some of these recipes are my go-to “5pm Mad Dash” meals, and others are truly a labor of love for my family. My hope is to be able to offer you a great recipe for any occasion, during every season of life!
