This banana bread recipe could be the easiest one I’ve ever made. It’s incredibly simple, nearly foolproof, and stays flavorful and moist for days. Nothing beats a warm slice topped with salted butter.
What you’ll need:
- 8×4 Baking Loaf
- Non-stick spray or parchment paper
Ingredients:
- 3 Medium Ripe Bananas – Craving banana bread without overripe bananas? Don’t wait for nature to take its course – speed up the ripening process by popping whole, unpeeled bananas in a 350°F oven for about 5 minutes.
- 1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 1 Dash Cinnamon
- 1/2 Cup White Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Whole Egg
- 2 Tsp Vanilla
- 1/3 Cup Salted Melted Butter
How to make this Banana Bread Recipe:
When I say easy, I mean ridiculously easy. Sure, there’s the “correct” way to make the batter, with everything going in a certain order… and then there’s my my favorite way. Both yield delicious results, but for the sake of completeness, I’ll outline both methods. Trust me, neither will leave you breaking a sweat.
The Standard Method to make Banana Bread-
Step 1
Mash your bananas and set aside. Preheat your oven to 350 and prep a baking loaf with cooking spray.
Step 2
Whisk the egg with the vanilla, white, and brown sugar. Then, add the melted butter.
Step 3
Combine the flour with baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Slowly add the flour mixture into the wet batter until well combined.
Step 4
Fold in the previously mushed banana and pour batter into a prepared baking loaf. Bake for 45-55 minutes. Let cool on a baking rack for 10 minutes and then serve warm.
…and my way:
Full disclosure: I’m not a baker, and my mom would probably cringe at my methods. But I’ve made this banana bread countless times using both the “right” way and my shortcut, and even my picky family can’t tell the difference. So, if you’re like me and prioritize minimal dishes and maximum ease, this one’s for you.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 and prep a baking loaf with non-stick spray.
Step 2
Grab a large bowl and a whisk (the ultimate banana-mashing tool). Toss in your three ripe bananas and mash until smooth.
Now for my twist: add the rest of the ingredients directly to the bowl. Forget any precise order, just dump everything in! It might seem a little chaotic, but trust me, this shortcut delivers incredible banana bread without any fuss.
Step 3
Pour you Banana Bread Batter into a baking loaf and bake for 45-55 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes on a baking rack and then serve warm.
